Dou' supports female hope makers in Gaza: saving crops and protecting the land

As part of its mission to foster social cohesion and community resilience, Dou’ responded to an urgent call from the "Green Girl" cooperative, led by young Palestinian women working to safeguard the land and ensure food security amid ongoing siege and aggression.

The cooperative faced critical challenges following the destruction of large parts of their farmland during the recent war and soaring fuel prices, threatening their ability to irrigate crops and provide much-needed food for the local community. Dou' provided emergency support to secure fuel and rescue the agricultural production that is vital for Gaza’s survival.

This initiative aligns with Dou's core mission of placing women and youth at the heart of peace and development efforts. The organization sees "Green Girl" as a model of solidarity and collective action that strengthens Palestinian resilience in times of crisis.

In its statement, Dou' said: "We believe that protecting the land and ensuring food security in Gaza are deeply connected to women's leadership in strengthening community cohesion. Supporting 'Green Girl' is part of our commitment to empowering women as key agents of change and builders of social peace and resilience."

Dou’ believes that sustaining such women-led cooperatives is a cornerstone for building a more just and inclusive society, capable of overcoming occupation, division, and uncertainty – and shaping a safer, more sustainable future.
