Dou' operates under an inclusive, participatory, and transparent governance model, ensuring that decision-making processes reflect the needs and aspirations of Palestinian society—with a strong focus on youth and women as key actors in peace and security.

Participatory and Inclusive Leadership

Dou' follows a participatory governance model, ensuring that decision-making processes are inclusive, transparent, and representative of diverse voices within Palestinian society. The foundation prioritizes the engagement of youth and women in leadership roles to align with its mission of fostering peace and security.

The General Assembly

It includes all members affiliated with the Palestinian Foundation for Dialogue and Development - Dou'. It is the highest supervisory authority and is responsible for setting the general policies and directives of the Authority, and is authorized to approve administrative and financial reports and elect the Board of Directors in accordance with the foundation’s internal regulations .

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors serves as the strategic oversight body, providing leadership and guidance to ensure that Dou's vision, mission, and programmes align with its core principles. The board:

  • Sets the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards.
  • Approves major policies, partnerships, and programmatic directions.
  • Includes diverse representation, prioritizing youth and women leaders.
Executive Leadership and Management

The Executive Director, appointed by the Board of Directors, oversees the organization’s daily operations, ensuring that strategic goals are effectively implemented. The leadership team:

  • Develops and implements programmes in alignment with Dou's mission.

  • Manages operational, financial, and human resources.

  • Maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, policymakers, and community partners.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council of Dou' is an advisory body formed of representatives from different Palestinian communities, with the aim of supporting the realization of Dou’s vision and mission. The Council contributes to providing strategic advice and enhancing communication with stakeholders, to ensure the integration of efforts and enhance impact.

Democratic Decision-Making

Dou' adopts a collaborative decision-making approach, where:

  • Key strategic decisions are made through consensus or voting mechanisms within the Board and Executive Leadership.

  • Programmatic and operational decisions are informed by staff input, community needs assessments, and expert recommendations.

  • Youth and women stakeholders have dedicated spaces to voice their perspectives and influence policies.

Accountability and Transparency

Dou' is committed to regular reporting and evaluation mechanisms to ensure ethical governance. This includes:

  • Financial statements, programme updates, and strategic plans shared publicly with partners and stakeholders.

  • An internal monitoring system to ensure adherence to international best practices in non-profit governance.
